Add Veteran Designation to Your Driver's License or ID Card

August 15, 2016 Daisie Hobson

Some of our Veterans do not qualify for a VA Health Care Card but would like to carry an ID card designating him as a Veteran.  Where can he get one?

Go to the nearest County Veterans Service Office, with your DD 214, and obtain a Veteran Status Verification Form (VSD-001). Complete this form and bring it with you to a DMV Field Office.

If you don't want to stay in line, call the nearest DMV Office for an appointment. Thereafter, you should have a Veteran imprinted on your Driver's License or your ID Card.

For more information, see How to Add the Veteran Designation to Your DL/ID Card in California.
